We are ideally located for exploring the Waterford Crystal (30 mins.), or Wexford at visitwexford.ie (30 mins.), New Ross Town (20 mins.), home to Dunbrody Famine Ship and Kilkenny Castle and Design Centre (1 hour). These towns are absolutely fabulous for shopping, whether for designer gear or Irish knitwear.
There are numerous activities on the Hook Peninsula including 16 safe beaches, historical sites such as Tintern Abbey, Ballyhack Castle, Dunbrody Abbey, Duncannon Fort and the Hook Lighthouse. Just down the road from us is the Arthurstown Cliff Walk which connects Arthustown and Duncannon Villages witha fabulous costal walk. There are a wealth of outdoor activities to be enjoyed here including scenic coastal walks, angling and horse riding. Kennedy Homestead and the J.F. Kennedy Arboretum which has over 4,500 types of trees and shrubs (www.heritageireland.com) are also nearby. The J.F.K. Dunbrody is a replica famine ship that John F. Kennedy’s grand-father left Ireland on in 1845 and is berthed in New Ross. Or visit the award winning Kilmokea Manor and Gardens. A visit to the Irish National Heritage Park is like no other you can imagine. Surprises await you around every turn as you explore 35 acres of this remarkable heritage trail.
